Together we will keep Campbell the great city that it is, building an even stronger community in the process!
My top priorities are City Services, Business development, and Public Safety.
City Services: The City provides services we are all dependent on: from streets to community development to permits to public grounds to affordable housing advocacy. We need to meet state housing requirements with minimal impact on current residents and city services. We need to be very focused to allocate funds properly and to have fiscal responsibility.
Business: Smart Economic Development will bring revenue to the city. We need to enhance the City climate for businesses. All healthy businesses are looking to grow and expand. The City outreach should actively solicit businesses. While council talks about increasing taxes on residents, I’d prioritize generating revenues by filling empty commercial locations (Elephant Bar, Hickory Pit, Denny’s, etc…) and bringing revenue-generating businesses back to locations that now provide no sales taxes.
Public Safety: The City has a police department that is viewed as very successful. But we must not be complacent. Having a continued emphasis on the right level of police presence at the same time of community involvement is crucial for all our safety. The pressures on the right level of police action has to continue through having strong training emphasis.
Giving Back
I decided to give back to the community after my wife, Mary, retired from 45 years of delivering social services and teaching English… from helping seniors to CASA to domestic violence victim advocacy. With her retirement, I started giving back to Campbell and the community over 10 years ago and now want to represent District 1 for the City of Campbell.
